     These are from Easter - the time we spent at Renee's. Charlotte is getting better at not smiling in front of the camera. Needless to say, I love cats and I don't care if it's a cliche - I love minous. There is not much to say about these. I wanted to shoot black and white - I've missed it. I love it.

     These were also from Easter, but from our 'trip' to the beach. It was my idea to go to the beach - I love the sea especially when it's cold and not many people are there. There is something so wonderful about something that big.

     Irene kept everyone in their homes on sunday and that, combined with the lack of power made the atmosphere kind of erie and strangely still. The wind was severe and because of it you would hear the broken tree limbs falling distantly in the woods but nothing close, nothing harmful. I don't think that it was an exceptionally sensational day even though a hurricane hit New England, it was mundane. People died in this hurricane, under those same clouds and, luckily, all I witnessed was broken trees and dirty streets.

     Hurricane Irene hit Connecticut pretty hard. We lost power by around 9:00 and all we had to do was sit in the dark and look out the windows. Safe in the house, the rain and wind was nothing more than irritating. It wasn't dangerous for us, it wasn't scary for us, it wasn't exciting...it was quite boring for me, actually - but the light was beautiful and plenty to take pictures of. Still, I think the intensity of the energy of the storm was less than that of the energy swirling around the house.
